Property Tycoons Dominate BRW 200 Rich List
Any real estate investor should feel thoroughly inspired by this year’s BRW 200 Rich List. More than a quarter of this year’s list comprised individuals whose wealth was accumulated through property investment.
Claiming the top spot with a personal wealth of $10.62 billion is Meriton Group owner Harry Triguboff. Among the top 10 were also Frank Lowy (Westfield’s Chairman), John Gandel (Principal of Gandel Group)and Hui Wing Mau (Chairman of Shimao Property), while Stan Perron (Founder and Chairman of The Perron Group) came in at number 12 with a total wealth of $2.88 billion.
In all, 54 people on the list of Australia’s wealthiest individuals generated their wealth through property, followed by the retail industry (24) and other forms of investors (23).
While not all Australian property investors aspire to be multi-billionaires this year’s Rich List certainly shows that real estate investment is the best way to grow wealth in the current economic climate.
